Akshay Kumar and Lisa Haydon at the trailer launch of Shaukeen in Mumbai

Before unveiling the trailer of The Shaukeens, director Abhishek Sharma was quick to point out the film's USP — five graduates from the National School of Drama have collaborated on the film — AnupamKher, AnnuKapoor,TigmanshuDhulia, PiyushMishra and Abhishekhimself. 

After the screening, Akshay Kumar, jested that he was from NANSD — Not Actor from NSD.

Also present was the film's leading lady Lisa Haydon. 
When asked what things the actors are shaukeens of in real, Akshay said, "Everything you can think of." Kher admitted his fondness for "food", and Mishra for "chup rehna".

Though Akshay is said to be doing a special appearance in the film, Abhishek says, "Akshay's special appearance is the highlight. It takes a lot of courage and conviction for any actor to do what Akshay has done."

Also present were producers Murad Khetani, Ashwin Varde and composer Anu Malik. The film, produced by Cine1 Studios, Cape of Good Films and Ashvin Varde Productions, releases November 9.
